Dear Parents/Carers,

Hopefully Spring is finally here!

I am sure you will enjoy reading about some of your children’s activities over the last term. We continue the focus on Reading for Pleasure and we do ask for your support in taking children to the local library, ensuring they are bringing their reading books and Reading Record books home on a daily basis and that they read for at least 15 – 30 minutes, hopefully with you.

We wish all our families a restful Easter Break.

Mrs L Khan, Head Teacher

Visitors from China

We were very lucky to have some visitors from our sister school in China come and spend the morning with us. They spent time in Year 5 Literacy and Maths lessons and were very impressed with what they saw.

World Book Day

To celebrate World Book Day 2018, all the pupils and staff came to school dressed as book characters. Everyone gathered for an assembly to share their wonderful costumes. Everyone made a super effort – a big well done to everyone!!

Science Week

Science Week 2018 was a fun week for many children at Berrymede. There was a tower building competition and Kinetic Theatre came and performed to year 5 and 6. The poster competition has seen hundreds of entries and the winners will be announced at the end of term assembly. Well done to everyone who completed a poster!!.

Sporting News

Well done to our Year 3 and 4 gymnasts who competed against 33 other schools from across the borough. Two of our children winning self belief awards for their performances.

Tai Chi
Our yearly Tai Chi competition with our partnership school St. John’s primary ended in victory for the 3rd time in 3 years. All children showed fantastic teamwork and attitudes throughout the morning. A big thank you to Tony our instructor.

10 children from year 6 got to go and experience Wallball for the first time today at Westway. They took part in training activities and friendly games. The highlight was meeting some of the best players in the world.
